Sony Ericsson C903 Review

The recently released Sony Ericsson C903 is a stunning addition to the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shots cameraphone lineup. It is a mid-range handset with some excellent plus points. Actually, the Sony Ericsson C903 was inspired by the Sony T-series point-and-shoot digcams, thus you will expected an excellent camera in this handset. However, the SE C903 might be the last Cyber-Shots cameraphone because the company is planning to phase out the distinction between its Cyber-Shot and Walkman brands that announced lately.

Design

The Sony Ericsson C903 is a compact device in slider form factor. It measures 97 x 49 x 16 mm and weighs 96 grams and it fits comfortably into any pocket and is lightweight enough to not even be noticed. The 2.4″ QVGA display dominates the front panel. Though, it is standard VGA resolution of 240×320 pixels, but the screen look beautifully sharp and clear, and very good legibility under bright sunlight . Below the screen you’ll find a square D-pad and six neatly arranged buttons for call start and stop, shortcuts, cancel and two soft keys. All these keys are large enough to hit accurately. Sliding the phone up reveals the flatbed alphanumeric keyboard. They are made from a single sheet of plastic with augmented grooves to differentiate the keys make the typing is quick and easy. Despite the good looking of the device but ergonomics are also fine.

Camera

Since SE C903 is only mid-range cameraphone, so it spot a 5MP camera instead of 8MP, but it doesn’t mean it is not a decent camera. The camera capable of producing images with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and come with a LED flash. Features rich is another jump of the camera, it offers a wide range of niceties such as smile shutter, face detection, image and video stabilizer, BestPic, auto-rotate, macro mode, spot metering, camera images geo-tagging, etc for you to play along with. Image quality is excellent, images has accurate colors and n nicely sharp edges. And when the camera is switch to capturing video, it is able to record video in QVGA resolution at 30fps. The video is in mp4 format so it can be directly watched at any mp4 player. The camera also has a reasonably quick response. Overall, the 5MP camera in C903 is somehow better than some other higher resolution camera. Read Complete review Sony Ericsson C903 Review

7 reasons why the Sony Ericsson Satio can challenge the iPhone

The Sony Ericsson Satio (or you can call it Idou if you're nostalgic for the last three months) is the phone everyone has been waiting for from Sony Ericsson, the one to put the company back on the map and halt its slide down the worldwide sales charts.

However, UK and Ireland MD Nathan Vautier has claimed that the Phone can even outstrip the iPhone, so after spending a great deal of time with the phone to bring you our in-depth hands on with the Sony Ericsson Satio, we had a sit down and tried to work out his reasoning.

1. The camera

Oh, we know what you're going to say. "Who needs a 12MP camera on a phone? Nobody needs one that good". Well, you might be right, be we have to tell you, it's a stonkingly good one. In fact, it's the kind of feature that makes you want to get the phone out because it's so good. And let's face it, the less we say about Apple's 2MP failure the better.

2. The Symbian-based OS

If you're like us, you're bored of the same tired interface it seems Sony Ericsson has been rocking for the last umpteen years, so to see a new one really is a breath of fresh air. It adds a whole level of functionality to the device by popping the media at the bottom, navigation at the top and scrollable screens to move between different options. It's almost like the way you interact with the iPhone, but without having to rumble through hoards of Apps. The sony ericsson satio

3. Movies... lots of Movies

Although not available yet, the Play Now Arena with Movies will give users 15 free downloads out the box for the handset, and five more free per month according to our sources. That's pretty much all the on-the-go movie downloading you could ever want, and while it's not the all you can eat stylings of Nokia's Comes with Music, it's still a great deal for no more money.

4. Cheap as chips

Well, chips that cost £35 per month that is. But the main difference in terms of cost between the Satio and the iPhone is that the new effort from Sony Ericsson will be free on contract, compared to having to pay upwards of £50 for Apple's mobile on some packages, which still leaves a bitter taste in our mouths when we think about it.

5. Messaging is easier... and prettier

While it might not have the intuitive word recognition that the iPhone sports for the ham-fisted among us, the Satio has a nice keypad in both QWERTY and alphanumeric modes, with the retro 80s stylings just adding to the mix. The iPhone can't even text in landscape mode yet, with the much-vaunted 3.0 update still waiting to hit our pockets. The sony ericsson satio

6. One handed action

You could accuse us of being a little bit picky here, but what makes a touchscreen a good phone as well is being able to easily operate it with one hand, and that's something you can do pretty easily with the Satio, with most icons in easy swiping range.

We know there are a lot of iPhone power users out there that are going to show exactly how dextrous they are at using their Apple phone with one hand, but we're sick of seeing people with the 'iPhone Hunch', that is people peering at their Apple device, holding it in one hand and jabbing at it in the other, like a flea is taunting them by leaping all over the surface.

7. Memory expansion

One of the real failings of the iPhone in the eyes of some is its lack of expandable memory, and we can't see this option changing soon. Sony Ericsson has bundled an 8GB microSD card into the box for the Satio, which puts it automatically on a par with the lower range iPhone.

But with a 32GB microSD card on the very near horizon, users will be able to pop in some massive storage (which they'll need for all those movies) and have a hot-swappable media library, whereas iPhone users will have to keep tethering back to their computer and iTunes. Sony Ericsson Yari Mobile Phone - Now Game is in Your hand

Sony Ericsson Yari Multimedia Mobile Phone, one of the 3 new handsets (Sony Ericsson Aino and Sony Ericsson Satio being the other 2) from the company, brings with it a unique feature, not seen with mobile phones outside Japan – gesture gaming. This new innovative feature lets you play games by actually moving your body. A games carousel is also introduced by this cell phone, which lets you access all games from your desktop. The PlayNow arena service can as well be accessed from the Yari.

Gesture gaming definitely will give people their daily dose of exercise. It seems like a nice unique way of having fun and passing your leisure. Mmmm… But, it would surely seem a little whacky to find people boxing invisible enemies, bowling or smashing or throwing invisible balls, twisting and turning when they are waiting at a bus stop, traveling or sitting on a park bench. However, gesture gaming should be given a chance and not ridiculed just by the mere internet-ish knowledge of the concept.

If you are exhausted playing the gesture games, you can even play regular games or listen to music. This handheld boasts a ’state-of-the-art’ music player and stereo speakers, for providing a high-end music experience. To listen to the music, you can either plug in the head-set that comes in the package or use Bluetooth wireless headphones. An FM radio is also integrated into this music phone. There is an option that lets you share your music with friends as you talk by the click of a button too. Equipped with a 5 Megapixel camera, this phone offers a variety of ways to make life’s precious moments memorable. Read More Sony Ericsson Yari Mobile Phone
